I have witnessed movement bringing people, teams, & communities together like nothing else can. Pilates brightens lives, invigorates souls, and brings good to all those who practice. As a faculty member & teacher trainer with Balanced Body (the largest Pilates company in the world) I am a strong advocate for the power of movement. I am fascinated, for example, by each student and how he or she transfers the practice of Pilates into his or her everyday life. Although I am known for inspiring my students to push their boundaries and go beyond where they’ve been before, I also don’t see a discrepancy between impeccable attention to form and function and fun.
Born and raised in the Prairies I love people, food, animals and of course, Pilates. I stumbled upon Pilates back in 2007 when I was introduced to a torture bed (at least that’s what it appeared to be) but later on found out it was actually called a Reformer. The connection, the strength and the challenge that I felt working on this piece of equipment was like no other. I fell in love with the control and the mindfulness it gave me over my body. When I’m teaching Pilates I’m doing what I love.
I fell fast and hard after my first mat class - the more classes I did, the further I wanted to explore! The more I understand the mind body connection, the deeper my appreciation is for movement. I love how an exercise can look so simple, but be so challenging to master. For me, it’s about practice, discipline, and fun…Pilates is my passion!
